Estahban Lost in the Sound of Wind and Soil

Estahban Lost in the Sound of Wind and Soil

“Estahban Lost in the Sound of Wind and Soil” is a short story collection by Baha Morshedi, published in 2016 by Honar Publishing.

The book consists of four independent short stories, each with its own narrative structure, while collectively continuing the author’s work in experimental fiction. The narratives move between realistic settings and poetic-mental layers, where language and imagery play a central role in shaping meaning.

The stories depart from linear, conventional storytelling and instead focus on atmosphere, visual texture, and fragmented narrative experience. In several parts, elements of place and nature become integral to the structure of the narrative itself, contributing to the book’s overall mood.

Published in approximately 120 pages, the collection represents a continued phase in Baha Morshedi’s writing, marked by formal experimentation and a sustained attention to the possibilities of language in short fiction.
