Unfinished Murders
1398 — Director
"Unfinished Murders" is a play written and directed by Baha Morshedi, staged in July 2019 (Tir 1398) by the "Tajziyeh" (Decomposition) Theatre Group at the Mehregan Theater House in Tehran. Morshedi's direction in this work, with its emphasis on creating a haunting and suspenseful atmosphere, successfully blends comedy and tragedy within a mysterious and psychologically probing narrative.
The story revolves around a girl who looks out the window of her house every day, but one day she disappears. Alongside this main story, the narrative examines five women grappling with daily problems and the monotony of life, each facing a tragic fate. The director, through the use of set design and lighting, creates a mysterious and suspenseful space where the boundary between reality and illusion dissolves. The play, alluding to "unfinished" murders that leave the audience in doubt, challenges the audience to reflect on the meaning of death and violence.
